Rated R. Fifth in the series "50 Years Ago at the Movies", Double Feature Psycho and 78/52. Alfred Hitchcock’s enduring horror film centers on an encounter between a secretary (Janet Leigh), who ends up at a secluded motel after stealing money from her employer, the motel's disturbed owner-manager, Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins), and its aftermath.

Psycho is now considered one of Hitchcock's best films and praised as a major work of cinematic art by international film critics and scholars. Often ranked among the greatest films of all time, it set a new level of acceptability for violence, deviant behavior and sexuality in American films, and is widely considered to be the earliest example of the slasher film genre. The film also features Vera Miles and Martin Balsam.

78/52 sponsored by Jack Schwab. 78/52 is an unprecedented look at the iconic shower scene in Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960) and the screen murder that profoundly changed the course of world cinema. The film’s title refers to the number of camera setups and edits in the scene.
