AST Presents: The Finest Hour-Music that Ended WWII
Saturday, March 07, 2020
Auburn State Theatre
8:00 PM - 10:30 PM
Price: $44 Advance, $46 Day of Show

Davina and the Vagabonds have created a stir on the national music scene with their high-energy live shows and level A musicianship. Hot Club of Cowtown has traveled the world playing their original fusion of Gypsy-Jazz and Western Swing. At Auburn State Theatre, these two bands will present The Finest Hour, a celebration of American music at the end of World War II, when European jazz, Western Swing, and Blues energized dance halls and radio waves throughout the country, ushering in the optimism of a new era. Together, DATV and Hot Club of Cowtown will present the songs of Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Gene Autry, and more.

DATV’s shows are filled with New Orleans charm, Memphis soul swagger, dark theatrical moments that evoke Kurt Weill, and tender gospel passages. With influences ranging from Fats Domino and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band to Aretha Franklin and Tom Waits, the band draws from the last 100 years of American music, and is converting audiences one show at a time.
