Open Trail Day

Walk on the Wildside
7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Price: FREE

Come enjoy the Upper Beach Lake wildlife area at your own pace. More than five miles of trails not regularly open to the public will be marked for you to stroll around the wetlands, lakes, and riparian forests in this beautiful part of the Sacramento area. Bring a camera and binoculars, as there are always plenty of birds to see this time of year and many plants will be showing fall colors. A time of transition, waterfowl and other wintering birds will be arriving, while summer residents may still be present. Mammal sightings could range from jack rabbits and deer to beavers and river otters.

Each person will be required to sign in to receive maps and other information. Access will be the same as for Walk on the Wildside, via Freeport Boulevard into Beach Lake Park.

No Pets, Please! For all Bufferlands events, we respectfully request that you please leave your dogs and other pets at home.
